Job Title: Farm-to-School - Summer Intern

Division: Agriculture Business Development

Hourly Rate: $9.00 - $11.00 per hour

Nature of Work:

This internship will provide a hands-on, professional learning experience related to school nutrition, Farm to School programming, community engagement, nutrition education and more.

 Examples of Work:

• Conduct Farm to School asset inventory.
• Assist with development and design of Farm to School resource materials.
• Collect and organize data related to Farm-to-School assets.
• Develop Farm to School Program outreach by working with growers and buyers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

• Work 40 hours per week during the Summer.
• General office setting; sitting, walking, reaching, stooping, bending and lifting less than 50 pounds.
• Potential for limited field work.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong computer skills.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required.
• Experience with Excel is preferred.
• Background in agriculture and/or graphic design is beneficial.

Additional Requirements:

• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• Satisfactory completion of pre-employment drug testing.
• Satisfactory completion of pre-employment law enforcement background investigation, including DMV records.
