Job Title: Marketing - Summer Intern

Division: Agriculture Business Development

Headquarters: Guthrie Agriculture Center Charleston, WV

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Hourly Rate: $9.00 - $11.00 per hour

Nature of Work:

This internship will provide a hands-on, professional learning experience related to general marketing of agricultural related events.

Examples of Work:

• Assist the Marketing Section with administrative duties.
• Assist with organizing and conducting marketing events.
• Assist with developing marketing and advertising materials and activities.
• Assists with general research and market analysis.
• Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

• Work 40 hours per week during the Summer.
• General office setting; sitting, walking, reaching, stooping, bending and lifting less than 50 pounds.
• Potential for limited field work.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong computer skills.
• Ability to take initiative and multi-task.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud is preferred.
• Background in agriculture and/or graphic design is beneficial.

Additional Requirements:

• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• Satisfactory completion of pre-employment drug testing.
• Satisfactory completion of pre-employment law enforcement background investigation, including DMV records.
• Must maintain a positive image of the Commissioner, West Virginia Department of Agriculture, and the State of West Virginia.
